What time is it?

I had to pull my phone out of my pocket to check why it just beeped at me and saw 3:16 in large numbers across the screen. Huh. Made me think of a well-known bible verse;

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. -John 3:16

And also one of my favorites:

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. -Colossians 3:16

After we accept the gift of that first verse, we get to live the second one. And look at that first sentence: Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill our lives. Wow. Is your life full? Yes, but full of Christ? I know mine can get full of other things and can sometimes feel empty.

This verse also says our full lives should fill others with Christ’s truth. And rejoice in thankful praise. Is there some scripture of encouragement that you can share with a brother or sister in Christ? Maybe even a chorus. What is filling you up that can be poured out into others?

The next verse in Colossians is the great catch-all.

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. -Colossians 3:17

If you’re not sure what that might look like, spend some time reading the verses following these. There’s something for everyone. And finally, it culminates with prayer (4:2).

So what time is it? It’s time to live and love like Jesus.
