Who Is Like You?

Good question. There are plenty of “gods” out there today demanding our attention: fame, fortune, fun. Many of them claim to fulfill all or our desires. But the truth is, they won’t; they can’t. Only the Lord can. David recognized this and responded this way after the Lord promised to make David’s family a great legacy.

“How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you—there is no other God. We have never even heard of another god like you!” 2 Samuel 7:22 NLT

David showed a great love for God. The man after God’s own heart responded to God’s great love by singing many praises to Him in the Psalms.

The words of the song There is None Like You by Lenny LeBlanc describes someone like David; totally in love with Jesus:

There is none like You.
No one else can touch
my heart like You do.
I could search for all eternity long,
and find there is none like You.

Now I want you to read/sing that song again. But this time change You to you. Think of it as a song from Jesus. You are special. You are unique. Not just one-in-a-million; but one-of-a-kind. When God made you, he recorded all your days, every moment before one came to pass (Psalm 139:13-16).

“I have loved you…with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.” Jeremiah 31:3 NLT

The Lord is passionate for His people. And we ought to be passionate for Him. He has made you for a special purpose, gifted you in a special way, and prepared for you good works to do. As the body of Christ we each are an important part, valued by God.

So who is like You/you? The answer is simple: there is none.
