Ahhh. It’s now fully into Fall. The colors are changing in the trees, temperature is falling, and it’s getting dark. The time change will affect that even more. Outdoor activities will be requiring some additional layers to fight of the chill. And we’re also approaching the hectic (if you make it) holiday season!
Before we get there, let’s think about what Thanksgiving means to you:
- Is it just that, the start of the holiday rush?
“Only 28 shopping days left, and tomorrow’s the best day!”
- Just a bump in the month that gives you a little break?
“A break? Are you kidding? I put in overtime making that huge meal!”
- Is it a time to gather the extended family together?
“If I’m gonna make all that food, I might as well have a few extra mouths around!”
- Maybe you’re the extended family and you need to travel?
“Oh great, the busiest travel day of the year!”
I hope it’s a little bit of each of these for you. I hope that as you celebrate Thanksgiving in your own unique way, that you are gathering warm memories. Memories that will help carry you through the cold trials of life.
Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don’t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
So what’s it mean? We can say, “Thanks!” for all He’s done and for all He is.
For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation. Psalm 100:5 NLT
