White as snow?
Have you ever gone to a paint store? Up on the wall is a whole myriad of colors to choose from. Which color will coordinate with the pillows, couch, and drapes? After a few minutes you’ve whittled your choices down to just less than 13 different shades of beige. Really? Beige? So you take your final selection to the counter and they grab a bucket of paint. They add a little Sepia, then a little Burgundy, a little Yellow but it’s just not right. Wait! They didn’t start with bright white paint, they started with gray. Can you add more white to get back to where you started? More white, more white, more…? No matter how much white you add, there’ll still be a tinge of color in it. You just need a fresh start with a pure white bucket of paint.
That’s kind of how it is with us. However righteous our acts might be, they’ll never be good enough to cleanse us of our sin. That “little” thing will always be there to tint our life and cause us to look just a bit dingy . “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” Isaiah 64:6a.
White As Snow by Leon Olguin
White as snow white as snow / Though my sins were as scarlet / Lord I know Lord I know / That I’m clean and forgiven
Through the power of Your blood / Through the wonder of Your love / Through faith in You I know / That I can be white as snow
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18. You need Jesus’ blood and sacrifice on the cross to cleanse you, and even though His blood is red, it will make you clean, white as snow. It is beyond my comprehension how red can make white, but His blood has power like that.
Have you experienced the cleansing power of His blood? Why not today?
