Spring is just around the corner. Just last week I thought it was really here, but sure enough another winter storm came through and made me rethink my wardrobe swap; out with the jeans and in with the shorts. Maybe not quite yet. In The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis, the White Witch (or Queen of Narnia as she liked to be called) had cast a spell upon the entire land of Narnia in which it was always winter, but never Christmas. Always winter! I couldn’t imagine it! To deal with the cold and snow forever must be very disheartening. And yes, it was a bother for the creatures of Narnia. But they had a Hope, a hope that one day Aslan, the Great Lion, would return to make things right again. We have that same Hope, too; a hope that one day things will be made right again. And I’m not just talking about the weather. There are times when we feel as though this season of life will not let up.
But Christian, you know that God is with you.
“Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. ” (Lamentations 3:23 NLT)
And you know where your strength comes from.
“But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 NLT)
And you know that one day you will see Him face to face.
“Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.” (1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT)
Now do you still feel you can’t wait?
“And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.” (Psalm 39:7 NASB)
I will wait…
